At TFAA, our in-house curated projects are a testament to our deep commitment to the arts, environmental awareness, and educational impact.
One of our latest initiatives, Connections, is a groundbreaking project by renowned French artist Romain Froquet. Known for his dynamic visual language, Froquet created a captivating series of ephemeral, site-specific works in the vast landscape of the West Texas desert, highlighting the transient beauty of nature and human expression.
Connections was led by acclaimed curator and TFAA Arts Program Director Yvonamor Palix, with the goal of reinforcing the cultural bridge between Texas and France : an ongoing pillar of TFAA’s mission to foster international artistic exchange.
To commemorate this remarkable endeavor, a documentary capturing the essence and evolution of the project was produced, offering an intimate glimpse into Froquet’s creative process and the powerful dialogue between art and place.
The Connections exhibition will debut in France before traveling to Texas, serving as a vibrant demonstration of how art transcends borders and becomes a powerful medium for connection and cultural conversation.
The premiere of the documentary Connections was held in April 2025 at the Favrot Auditorium of the Glassell School of Art at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (MFAH), with the generous support of the French Consulate.
To mark the occasion, an exclusive presentation and private reception were hosted at the residence of the French Consul. The evening brought together key figures from the art and cultural world, including museum director Nicolas Couturieux, representatives from Art Houston Magazine, and members of the Houston Consular Corps, offering a unique platform for dialogue around the intersection of art, culture, and international collaboration.
The journey of Connections continues… We are actively presenting the project to leading museums across Texas, building momentum for its next exciting chapter. Stay tuned for what’s next!
