Engaging the Community through Art

Bernar Venet Exhibition

Hermann Park – Houston

In 2010, Houston joined major cities like Paris and New York in hosting a spectacular outdoor exhibition by world-renowned French artist Bernar Venet. Presented by the Texan-French Alliance for the Arts (TFAA) and McClain Gallery, the show featured 15 towering corten steel sculptures installed across Hermann Park.

This was Houston’s largest public art exhibition to date. An inspiring fusion of art, nature, and international culture. The TFAA also launched a yearlong educational program, engaging schools and the public through tours, talks, and creative learning experiences.

As Mayor Bill White remarked, “It’s a testament to the beauty of the Houston spirit.”
